Originally, the machines of the burger line were designed for the hamburger market. However, the process of mixing ingredients and then pressing them into a mold, called the high speed-high pressure line, can be applied much more widely. Therefore, these machines are now also used to make Vega, cheese, fish and chicken burgers.
Fast, faster, fastest: the burger production process
Because the entire production process has been optimized, a high production level is achieved. It is truly a high speed production process. The pressed burgers are checked by a camera, for example four at a time. If the shape, weight or color deviates from the standard, then this burger, along with the adjacent 3 burgers, are removed from the line. The approved burgers are placed on a piece of paper by the underleaver. After this, they are stacked to the desired amount. This can be done straight on top of each other, or tile by tile. These stacks are placed in the packaging in groups of, for example, 4 rows.
The Sleegers 4-lane hamburger line can process a standard of 340 hamburgers per minute. This depends, among other things, on the type of products. That's 20,400 burgers per hour!
The next blog will be about the limitations during the demonstrations.
