The vegetarian food market is growing rapidly. It takes a lot of research to develop a product that is suitable in taste and appearance for the critical consumer. When the composition is optimal, then the product must be produced on a large scale. A large proportion of Vega products are shaped like hamburgers. Therefore, it is often thought that the Sleegers machines developed to make hamburgers are 1 on 1 suitable for Vega production. However, this is not the case. Hamburgers and Vega burgers are two different products that need to be processed differently. It's like comparing apples to pears.

Different shape, different challenges

Besides the round Vegaburgers, vegetarian products come in many more forms. Each shape has its own challenges in the production process. Where possible, we use existing Sleegers machines as a basis. We develop these further to the desired Vega version. However, this is not always possible. In that case we design, in commission and in cooperation with the client, a totally new machine.
